According to Hindu Mythology, the credit for bringing the Holy Ganga Jal on Earth goes to King Bhagirath. Lord Shiva got pleased with his hard worship and blessed him with his wish for bringing the Sacred Maa Ganga to Earth from Heavens.
It is also said that the drops of Pavitra Amrit from the heavens fell into River Ganga at Harki Paudi (Haridwar), thus the water of River Ganga is also called Amrit and is Sacred.
River Ganga originates from Himalayas (Gaumukh) and travels a long journey from Mountains to Forests and Plains and then merges into the Sea. While passing through Mountains, it absorbs the rich minerals content which makes its water pure and its purity stay for long.
This Holy Water is filled directly from the main source Haridwar and is being used for Religious Purposes. |
